Into The Rift

Optimism sucks.

I like to look for the best in people; the good-natured meaning behind the seemingly selfish act; the goodness in their hearts behind the harsh, cruel exterior, caused by extreme heartache.

Maybe I’m just a hopeless romantic.

This probably won’t make sense and will bore you.

My family is quite a small one. Up until recently there was pretty much just my parents, my two brothers and I. We’re quite a close family and each of them has had a strong influence on my life. But not only that, my Grandparents who either died before I was born or shortly thereafter have also had an influence, through my parents.

I used to think of myself as a reasonably well adjusted person who occasionally has down days (who doesn’t?) and deals with issues quite well. I’m not so sure anymore.

I tweeted earlier about a phrase my Grandmother used to say - “If your face wants to smile, let it. If it won’t, make it.”. I’ve fully adopted this into my life and when I’m not feeling too upset about things, I just try to let it pass over me, but I wonder whether this is healthy.

Recently I’ve been starting to wonder whether I am a well-adjusted individual or whether I just ignore things. If I’m upset, I just try to stop feeling upset and put a smile on.

I always put a smile on. I’m sure that’s not healthy and it’s not dealing with issues. I was recently told off by a very close friend because she said I was getting annoyed with myself for being upset and that it was ok for me to feel upset.

I don’t know how to let myself feel upset without getting annoyed at myself.

I don’t know how to let myself feel upset.

The Demise of #TVC

I could go off on a massive rant about this.

All I will say is that those who have used the discussion of the selling of TVC to air your opinion that the BBC should be privatised and the TV licence abolished need to get some brains because you obviously have none.

All By Myself

One thing that’s good about sharing a house with someone who’s now only here on weekends is that you can do really geeky things like link your laptop up to the big TV and watch streaming TV whilst surfing the web at the same time!
